Another one of my favorite documentaries. Buddha’s life story is an amazing one; he grew up as a prince, his eyes blocked from the worlds pain and inescapable truths. When his eyes are finally open to the these hurtful truths he sets out to become a holy man and is tempted by human desires of which we all endure. He becomes a beggar, literally the lowest of the low in societies eyes. From this he finds it is not to withhold ones humanly urges/desires to gain spiritual enlightenment, cus without pleasing simple needs the mind cannot construct healthy thoughts and whats a soul without healthy thoughts? Balance is key and so is happiness. We all know what it is to suffer and have the compassion to feel what others are feeling, greed is the one thing we don’t need in this world. We all walk separate roads but on the same path “LIFE-DEATH”
Every great thinker/philosopher knew these basic thoughts, even if they had never heard of the great Buddha and his teachings. What I love most of his teachings is that he doesn’t think of himself as a higher power, just someone who has woken up and seen the truth. He is an equal to us; he gets sick like we do and died like we all will. He has just given us a path to follow so when we do encounter rough times along this path we deal with them in the most humble of ways. So when death comes we know we have lead a happy life and set our smile in someones mind. A smile truly goes a long way. SPREAD THE ALOHA!
Make them yours, before someone else does. Make that move, before someone else does. Hold them close, before someone else does. Tell them you love them, before someone else does.
